Commissioned by Aintree Racecourse. English National Hunt Trainer of the legendary Grand National Winner Red Rum. He won the Grand National with Red Rum three times, and for the fourth time with Amberleigh House.
MCCain had stables behind his used car showroom in Southport and he trained Red Rum on Crosby beach near Liverpool. As a national serviceman he was an RAF motorcycle despatch rider and member of the RAF scrambling team.
